Dry Water Farm Summer program ‘08
At Dry Water Farm your child will not only learn riding, they will experience horse care and the management skills needed to become a real horseman. Dry Water is a family farm built on 35 acres of farmland. We have 32 horses on the property, a large indoor arena (80 x 200), beautiful outdoor arena (150 x 200) and a scenic perimeter trail. Dry Water feels like you are far from any city and set in the country! The Program that we offer teaches all aspects of horse care revolving around safety for both students and horses. We offer a fun safe environment for all students to learn from beginner to advanced. All of our licensed instructors are committed to giving your child the best summer experience. Daily activitiesHorse care: As students will learn, there is a lot more to horses then just riding! Throughout the sessions we will show them what it takes to provide care for a horse on a day-to-day basis. Some of the topics we will cover include: Feeding and nutrition, Grooming, First Aid, Show preparation and horse behavior. Riding: Students ride at least once a day. We will work on many different things including rider position and equitation, to use effective and efficient aids to communicate with their equine partner. Our riding is based around safety and having fun too. We will work in all gaits of the horse- walk, trot and canter. Depending on students’ ability level we will do small jumping and lower level dressage movements as well as some bareback riding and games. Riders will be able to learn about and experience different breeds of horses as well as different disciplines of riding. Activities: Students will participate in horse/farm related activities each week. This may include painting or tie dye so please be sure that students wear clothes that may get soiled.
Guest speakers: Riders must bring: When available we will bring in Long pants for riding Other professionals in the area that can Riding Shoes Talk and demonstrate their profession Bagged Lunch and Water And or experience in the horse industry (Optional: Shorts and sneaker) As there is much more to horsemanship All clothes must be barn appropriate Then just riding!! This may include and able to be soiled or horse slimed. Veterinarians, Blacksmiths, Equine massage therapists, trainers etc. RegistrationYou may register for one or all of the Sessions. Each week ends with a show on Friday for family and friends to Come watch!

Each day begins at 9 and ends at 2. Students that require a drop off or pick up at other times may do so for an additional fee. Please inquire about this at time of registration. Sessions are $475 per week. A $100 non-refundable deposit is required at time of registration. Students who register on or before April 1will receive a reduced rate of $450 per session. Full payment is due on the first day of each session. Come to our open house MARCH 1, 2008 9am to 1pmTake some time to look at the farm and meet our instructors and horses!
